Swim?

Newfoundlanders are swimming dogs. Their job is to rescue drowning people and to bring off small boats. I got a call from owners of 2 of these dogs. During the yearly meeting of the Belgian Newfoundlander Club, these people noticed that their dogs did not like water! And since they built a swimming pool in their garden, and the dogs couldn't swim ... I started with my first lesson in swimming outfit! After a few sessions with myself under a dog of about 70kilo on top of me she finally could swim.

What a job...

It is not only about dog training. Some time ago, a Great Dane showed bad manners. The first lessons were the classic ones: don’t jump up, don’t steal food and learn to walk without pulling the lead. But then the owner asked me to learn the dog to guard a goldshop during day time. Therefore I needed to install a security rope. I went to the shop with my drilling equipment and other gear to install the whole thing. But I couldn't stop thinking: "Shouldn't I be training dogs?".

Dog-sitting

The longest training I did started at 10 am and ended at 6 am the following morning. The owners of a Briard who followed a private course married. They didn’t like to leave their dog alone and were afraid that friends would mess up their house for fun during the festivities. So after a morning cup of coffee, I started dog-sitting and together with my dog Kino, we guarded the house for 20 hours.
